Truly beautiful, and sad.

In Asian philosophy, Man is the creature with the potential to be the Center of the Universe, at the balance point between Earth and sky ; just like your fisherman.

This is the way I feel the loneliness of the mermaid : because she's out of this point of balance. Thus, she cannot touch the man she seems to desire, nor the light he's in ;
and she keep hiding in the shadows of the sea wall, of the ocean ... :s
